CAOS Member Suber Huang, M.D., president and founder of The Retina Center of Ohio in South Euclid, OH, is the 2018 recipient of the prestigious Jose Rizal International Medal from the Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO). The Jose Rizal Medal is given to an outstanding ophthalmologist who has demonstrated excellence in ophthalmology in the Asia-Pacific region. It is the organization’s highest recognition for contributions to education and clinical care.
He joins an elite group of recipients who include CAOS member, David Chang, Jules Francois, A Edward Maumenee, Alfred Sommer, Steve Ryan, , Jerry Shields, and founding director of the National Eye Institute, Carl Kupfer. The award will be presented at the APAO meeting, February 8, 2018 in Hong Kong, where Huang will lecture on technological advancements, innovation, and collaboration in the treatment of blinding eye diseases.
